Camellia oleifera seed oil is pressed from camellia seeds and is typically rich in oleic acid. It also naturally contains smaller amounts of other fatty acids and antioxidant compounds including tocopherols.
Its primary cosmetic function is as an emollient. In cleansing oil it provides smooth slip across the skin and helps form the oil phase that dissolves makeup, sunscreen, sebum and other oil-soluble material.
