Skincare During Pregnancy: Can I Use Krī Products?

Pregnancy can change your skin in unexpected ways. It can become drier, oilier or more sensitive; pigmentation and blemishes can appear; and the sheer volume of conflicting skincare advice can make an ordinary routine feel unnecessarily complicated.

So we prefer to keep the guidance around Krī straightforward.

Can I use Krī Skincare during pregnancy?

Our skincare range is formulated to be suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. You do not need to abandon your entire routine simply because you are pregnant.

What may need to change is the amount of hydration, moisture or simplicity your skin wants as hormonal changes affect the way it behaves.

What about Bakuchiol?

Bakuchiol is not retinol and it is not a retinoid. Our Bakuchiol Antioxidant Serum contains 2% Bakuchiol, while Vitamin C + Bakuchiol Serum combines it with THDA, an oil-soluble form of Vitamin C.

Both products are formulated for use during pregnancy. If your skin becomes unusually sensitive, introduce or reintroduce active products gradually and respond to how your own skin feels.

Vitamin C, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid

These ingredients can also remain part of a pregnancy skincare routine. Vitamin C + Bakuchiol uses THDA in a simple water-free formula; Illume provides niacinamide alongside hydrating ingredients; and Hydrate is useful when skin suddenly feels tighter or more dehydrated.

If pregnancy has made your skin drier, you may simply need a richer moisturiser. Endless is our more nourishing option.

Let your skin change its mind

A product that suited you perfectly before pregnancy may suddenly feel too rich, too light or simply wrong. That does not mean you need a complicated pregnancy-specific routine. It means your skin has changed and your routine can change with it.

Cleanse gently, add hydration or treatment according to what your skin needs, moisturise, and use sunscreen during the day. If your skin becomes particularly reactive, simplify rather than adding more products.

And if you have a medical skin condition, a high-risk pregnancy, or specific concerns about an ingredient, your midwife, GP, pharmacist or dermatologist can give advice that takes your individual circumstances into account.

Keep it simple

Pregnancy brings enough new decisions. Skincare does not need to become another elaborate project. A small number of well-chosen products, adjusted according to how your skin feels, is entirely consistent with the way we formulate Krī in the first place.
